Hi everyone, my son is in Year 3 and will be doing his first ever NAPLAN this year. I honestly don’t know where to start when it comes to helping him prepare. He’s never done any formal tests before and gets nervous easily. Any advice from parents who’ve been through it?

We were in the exact same boat last year with our daughter — first time facing a structured test, and she was totally thrown off by the idea of timed questions. What helped us get her truly test ready was https://testready.com.au It’s designed for Aussie students and gradually introduces them to the kinds of questions they’ll see in the real NAPLAN.
What we liked most is that it’s super kid-friendly — lots of interactive exercises, no overwhelming walls of text, and just the right amount of challenge. We didn’t want to stress her out, and this platform struck the perfect balance between being educational and approachable. We set aside just 20–30 minutes every few days and by the time the real test rolled around, she wasn’t scared at all — she knew what to expect, and that made all the difference.
